If you love fishing in Tuscaloosa, you owe a little something to the lake that makes it all possible. This Saturday, March 21st, is your chance to give back.
The City of Tuscaloosa hosts its annual Love Our Lakes Day at the Rock Quarry Boat Landing on Lake Tuscaloosa — and they need volunteers. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and it's one of the best things happening on the water this weekend.
Presented by Tradesman Dock Building Company, this community-driven initiative is hosted by Tuscaloosa Water and the City's Environmental Services Department. The goal? Preserve and protect Lake Tuscaloosa — the primary source of drinking water for Tuscaloosa residents and one of the best fishing spots in west-central Alabama.

What to Know Before You Go
Volunteers with their own boats are encouraged to bring them to help clean up the shoreline and waterways. If you don't have a boat, no worries — you can ride with City crews and still make a difference.

Community Partners Making It Happen
Love Our Lakes Day wouldn't be possible without local businesses stepping up. Partners include Capstone Marine Builders, Rambo Marine, Pier 43, and more. It's the kind of community effort that keeps our lakes fishable for generations.

Why This Matters to Anglers
Lake Tuscaloosa isn't just a water source — it's a fishing destination. Largemouth bass, crappie, bream, and catfish all call this lake home. When the shoreline stays clean and the waterways stay healthy, the fishing stays good. Simple as that.
Events like Love Our Lakes Day remind us that the best fishing happens when we take care of our waters. Whether you pull out a bag of trash or spend the morning on a boat crew, every bit helps.

🌿 See You on the Water Saturday
Bring your boat, bring a friend, and let's keep Lake Tuscaloosa clean for the next generation of anglers. It's free, it's fun, and it makes a real difference.
